Is indoor exercising as beneficial as outdoor exercise?
The latest games console the Wii fit encourages users to select from around 46 exercise games across 4 main sections: yoga poses, upper body strength games, aerobic exercises, and balancing games. To play such games, the user has to stand and sometimes lie on the Nintendo Wii Balance Board device that comes with the game. The board, which appears to be a little bit bigger than normal bathroom slate, supports weights of as much as 310 pounds or so. It takes by four AA batteries so make sure you get a charger for it as it can be a bit of a nuisance without it. There are about four pressure sensors inside the peripheral which are used to find where your feet are. They also monitor your centre of gravity, and show your total weight.
Games encourage the player to jog on the spot or are encouraged to do a hula hoop motion. These sorts of exercises can give effective exercise, but they're not as healthy as a lengthy workout session at the gym. it's hard to say exactly how less healthy they are, but I will say that they're a good start, but not the greatest type of exercise to utilise.
