Healthy Chinese tea is a huge source of polyphenols, which are antioxidants . These have similar health properties to vitamin C. Tea contain a huge number of main polyphenols, while the most prominent chemical is epigallocatechin gallate, commonly referred to as EGCG. This is the most common component of green tea.
Chinese tea also contains caffeine, a large stimulant, although in much lesser quantities than can be found in other teas or than in coffee.
