Chinese tea has often been described as owning a ever-increasing range of good points, the most often used claim being it's ability to encourage easy significant weight loss. Indeed, there are a large number of “green tea pill” products on the market which claim to offer significant weight loss upsides.
A scientific study by researchers at the University of Kansas discovered that the chemical epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which is commonly found in Jasmine tea significantly reduced the negative effect of smoking and a high cholesterol diet. EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant which has been discovered in a large number of studies to have a whole host of health benefits including the decline of the formation of cancer cells.
