Whilst there is not reliable validation of this, it has for centuries been believed that just one of tea's (and specifically green tea's) widely regarded benefits is the fact that it may prevent the negative downsides of diabetes. It works by adjusting the level of the chemical glucose in the blood stream, which might help to keep a close eye on the low blood sugar effects of type 1 diabetes.
Acai tea is also used to control the level of blood sugar in the blood and often has been utilised in this way for centuries. Many studies have implied that Acai may also help to prevent the evolution of type 1 diabetes and, once it has developed, may help to prevent the advance of the type 1 diabetes. Individuals with type 1 diabetes for the most part produce minor amounts of insulin. This is a hormone that helps to alter glucose, several starch compounds, and other compounds into energy. Scientists have suggested that green tea allows the body to monitor glucose in the body, and so acts in a manner similar to insulin, although this is yet to be fully proven in humans.
